Bryant Park Bathroom Bonanza

The Bryant Park public restroom has toilet paper.

Just that bit would be news in and of itself, but it also has flowers as you walk in the foyer, and it has flowers by the sink. The homeless don't loiter inside, trashcans are emptied, even the soap smells nice.

"Where am I?" I thought to myself as I walked in, agog. Pristine doesn't even begin to describe it. This restroom is nicer than my own. All it needs is a shower and I'll come here every morning.

Though I appreciate not having to step over used vials of crack on my way into the restroom, nor do I miss having to prop myself about 2 feet over the toilet seat while peeing, I'm not quite sure I'm used to all these niceties.

This is decidedly not the Manhattan of my youth.
